Thirsty Koala Features in WWF 2 Degrees Project!

The 2 Degrees Project is a new WWF initiative that will help show (in degrees of separation) just how close Australia is to climate change. It is the first of its kind ever conducted.
By connecting to the 2 Degrees Project - to tell and share compelling climate change stories, you will be taking part in the first project that aims to show that every Australian is, at most, two degrees away from climate change.
Some people think climate change is an issue threatening polar bears or impacting other people in other parts of the world. But scientists have found that it is happening here in Australia and it is happening now.
Some people also think it’s too hard or too late to act. But it’s not! Australia has the solutions, the resources, skills and knowhow to solve this problem. - WWF 2 Degrees Project

Sunday Morning Walk

I love Sunday mornings and I love a little sleep in, cooked breakfast and fresh coffee to get me started for the day! And just to top it off a walk around Cleland National Park. We rugged up and with water and phone in hand we set out the front door. It was quite windy and cold, so we chose a short track to walk along. I Hoped to find a koala for you and I did, but he too was windswept and cold. Alas my efforts to get his attention did not succeed to well, he just wanted to stay tight in a warm ball, who can blame him!

Koala Stop

I thought I'd share this pic that I took this morning, this is taken near a favourite coffee shop of mine :)

A bus full of Koalas?

The weekend is fast approaching and that means a trek through the hills.  I'll bring my phone this time and hopefully I can capture some pics of koalas for you. It is getting colder so the koalas tend to 'ball' up in the trees, keeping warm and looking all cuddly.

Koalas Koalas Koalas!

Here are some amazingly cute pictures of koalas just hanging out in trees in around our house.
They have 'the good life'  :)
These Koalas are of course wild. We do not 'keep them as pets' but especially during Summer we get a lot of visits!
I took these pics 2012 - Summer 2013
This is a brand new blog, so please keep dropping by for new pictures and stories - or subscribe!

Cute Koala Kisses

A very cute Koala giving a kiss to Chris in our own backyard....

Cute Thirsty Koala

We were lucky to be able to help this thirsty little guy during Summer!
This wild koala was looking over our fence for water, so we helped him out.
Koalas do not usually drink as they get moisture from eucalyptus leaves, but when you have a hot dry summer the leaves loose moisture, and Koalas will seek out other water sources.
